Is there an easier way to create new LoopSets out of my own loops?
Yes. You can use the SetMaker tool to build the LoopSet. You can download it at http://www.soundtrends.com/zip/SetMaker.zip
Where do I see how to work the software? Is there a manual?
We are working on more text-based documentation. However, you may find even more helpful information on our soundtrends YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/soundtrends.
How do I export my mix?
Mix recording in Looptastic is done a little differently. You perform your mix first and then save it. Video covering this operation can be found here:
http://soundtrackloops.com/2010/05/how-to-import-loops-into-looptastic/
Here are the steps involved:
- From the main menu, choose a loop set to work with
- On the loop mixing screen, create the mix you want by adding loops, adjusting effects, etc.
- When you are finished press the save mix button. It is just to the right to the play/pause button.
- Choose a name for your mix and press done.
- From the main menu, press the More button
- Press the "Wi-Fi Transfer (Import/Export)" item
- Follow the on screen instructions about opening a browser on your PC or Mac
- From your PC/Mac, you will see the mix name you created in step 4. Click on the Export button next to it. Your computer will download an AIF file of your mix.
I am having trouble connecting via Wi-Fi, what should I do?
Make sure that your device is on the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. Another thing to try is creating an Ad Hoc network to make a Wi-Fi connection directly from your computer to your device. Here are the steps:
- On your Mac, click on the Wi-Fi icon at the top of the screen.
- Switch Air Port On, if it isn't already
- Choose Create Network.
- On the Create Computer to Computer network screen, choose the name of your choice and automatic channel. Click OK.
- On your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, open the Settings application.
- Click on the Wi-Fi item.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is set ON.
- Under the list in Choose a Network, find the name of the network you created in step 4. Click that row. You should see a check mark appear next to the network to indicate it is connected.
- Open up Looptastic. From the main screen, hit more, followed by Import/Export using Wi-Fi.
- Follow the directions on your iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad screen. Open a browser on your Mac using the address specified.
- When you are finished with the transfer, go back to your Mac and click the Wi-Fi icon again. Either shut Air Port off or restore it to your previous setting.
Do I have the rights to use my Looptastic composition for commercial use?
Sound Trends grants you a license to use your musical creation made from Looptastic, on a world-wide, royalty-free basis. This grant applies to sounds you acquire with the application or through the Loop Store. If you acquire loops from other sources, you will need to secure the rights to use that material as well. You may not resell the individual loops as separate parts--you only have permission to use the completed music composition.
