Looptastic HD 1.2: Tap Tempo, Stutter Effects & MoreVersion 1.2 of Looptastic HD, a free upgrade for current owners, offers three new ways to get in sync during live performance: Tap Tempo, Tempo Nudge, and Direct Tempo Input.
- The new Tap Tempo button adjusts the master tempo to help you match other gear, songs, or musicians. Just tap the screen on the beat and Looptastic HD locks in.
- Running a bit ahead or behind the band? Hit the new Tempo Nudge buttons (< and >) to drop or raise the tempo momentarily, and you'll snap right back in the pocket.
- If you know the tempo you want, you can now type it in directly. Just click the numeric display to call up the iPad's keyboard, type a number between 40 and 250 bpm (including tenths of a beat), and hit Enter.
Looptastic's unique Scratch Strip now has a Tools menu that lets you reverse the selected loop during playback. We've moved the controls for "Always Playing" and "Touch to Play" to this new menu as well, making them easier to use.
For even more creative sound-slicing, Looptastic HD 1.2 includes three new effects developed in consultation with Jordan Rudess: Stutter Looped, Stutter Stepped, and Stutter Gate. See and hear Jordan demonstrate them in this video.
