Looptastic HD Gains SamplingNow there are three ways to get your own sounds into Looptastic HD on the iPad (and soon Looptastic Producer on the iPhone and iPod Touch):
- Via Wi-Fi with the built-in Web server (click the More button on the home screen; see our support link for details)
- Via Sonoma Wire Works AudioPaste from compatible apps (read more)
- Via microphone (use the iPad's built-in mic or a headphone mic)
Like everything in Looptastic, live recording is implemented in a fresh, intuitive way:
- Press the new Sample button at the top of the performance screen.
- Wait for the one-measure countdown. (Recording is synchronized with loop playback.)
- Record up to eight bars of sound into the microphone. For best results, use a headphone-based mic to avoid picking up the sound of the speaker. (Though if feedback's your thing, go for it.)
- Press Done. A new loop will appear in the tray. Looptastic will automatically create a new Loop Set containing all the loops on the screen plus the recording you just made. It will also automatically normalize the audio for consistent volume.
- Repeat steps 1–4 as many times as you like. You are only limited by the maximum number of loops (32) and the available memory.
